Subscription vs Upgrade
eyeon has changed Fusion’s upgrade methodology to a subscription-based model. This new subscription system will bring more features and more releases sooner rather than later. Under the upgrade method, features and tools were stockpiled until there were enough to warrant an upgrade fee. This takes time.
Many studios have asked us to release features sooner, and the subscription method offers a better model for artists and facilities. This translates directly into more timely releases with added features. Fusion 5.2 has major features (see the Fusion 5.2 features list) and many improvements, and Fusion 64 will be released following a beta testing period, all under this subscription program without separate upgrade fees.
Subscription is eyeon’s rolling upgrade program which gives you multiple upgrades of Fusion over a 12 month period. All new seats of Fusion, including educational require a subscription license.
The cost of Fusion is based on the core Fusion 5.0 price; with multi seat discount applied depending on the number of seats your purchase, plus the additional rolling upgrade fee of $395 per license. Educational Student subscription is $395 for a single license. Education Course is $395 for each set of 5 licenses on the course.
The subscription license will give you immediate permanent access to the currently shipping version of Fusion, plus will validate your license to use any release of Fusion including all major releases for 12 months.
Eyeon subscription is for Fusion only. Render nodes are upgraded free for life. Subscription is not maintenance; technical support is free to all customers.
Features made available during the subscription program will never expire.
