Chuck Dickens took a SWAT training course
with eyeon. We asked him about the experience.

 |
| Q: Tell me about yourself
and how you became interested in Fusion?
| |
 |
Well, where does one start? I'll leave out the boring
stuff about me and talk about Fusion. I first became aware of
Fusion through a demo at NAB a couple of years ago.
As an Avid DS Editor I was attracted to the node based
software interface and I needed to progress to a 3D
compositing environment, so there you have it. I couldn't
talk the boss into it for a couple years, but hey, I got
there.
Back to the boring stuff, I am Chuck Dickens
from Calgary, Alberta, and I work for Pyramid Productions, an
all-in-one production facility. We mainly produce
entertainment programs, docs, and reality.
|
 |
| Q: Where did you take the
course? | |
|
I took the course in Sunny Los Angeles at Isaac
Guenard's sweet pad. Not only was the training brilliant
but Isaac's hospitality and the Hollywood experience made it
an unforgettable time.
|
 |
| Q: Why did you decide to
take the course? | |
|
Well, in my current situation, I have to do some editing
and grading. My trial and error was at a premium, so we
searched out a training solution.
|
 |
| Q: How do feel you benefited
from taking the Fusion course?
| |
|
How didn't I benefit? Everything from just learning how to
properly organize a flow to 3D Projection, to Isaac's amazing
color demonstration. The training actually ended up benefiting
me not just in Fusion but in all the software I
use...
|
 |
| Q: What was your favorite
part of the course? | |
|
I seriously cannot pick just one, can I pick Isaac?
Seriously, he is one of the best instructors I have met at
cramming stuff into your brain, his knowledge is amazing.
|
| Q: Anything else you would
like to share about the course and your experience with
eyeon SWAT (SoftWare Artist Training)?
| |
 |
I would just like to add this, Fusion is an amazing
tool. I am not sure the word gets out enough in places
like Calgary and to places like Pyramid that wouldn't
immediately consider it a tool that could make them money but
I am here to tell you that Fusion is just about whatever you
dream it to be and things like SWAT help make those dreams
come true.
